Pets at home

I was scrolling through my social media page and come across a suggested post from pets at home . They were advertising a half term free workshop for children all week, I clicked on the post as I was intrigued to see what was involved as we had never even been in the store before. Below is what the event said .

Visit your local Pets at Home store for a My Pet Pals Woodland Workshop, subject to availability.**

Our workshops are aimed at kids aged 5-11, helping to teach them all about our favourite woodland animals and whet we can do to help them during the colder months. They’ll also meet our friendly small furries whilst learning how to keep them happy and healthy during a fun and hands-on experience!

We got there for 11.30am and a lovely young lady came over and asked us if we were here for the workshop and said the kids names , which surprised me …it turned out Lexie and Blake were the only children joining the workshop , now that’s what I call VIP treatment! It began with holding Guinea pigs and being told some facts about them . Then Lexie got to hold a rat ! Blake wasn’t keen haha . Then they got to feed the Guinea pigs and rabbits while being told more facts , finished off at the fish tanks to feed . The workshop was supposed to be around 30 minutes but it was more like an hour , maybe because the store wasn’t too busy but the guide was great and very informative and interacted well with the children . Once finished they were presented with certificate’ s and gift boxes with activities inside , plus you get 2kg of bird seed free. So overall this is a fantastic free event and I would recommend! They do free workshops throughout the year so worth checking your local store .
